Network access control (NAC) is the process of restricting unauthorized users and devices from gaining access to a corporate or private network.
It restricts the availability of network resources to endpoint devices and users that comply with a defined security policy. The NAC can also provide endpoint security protection such as antivirus software, firewall, and vulnerability assessment with security enforcement policies and system authentication methods.
NAC aligns with the principles of Zero Trust, where no one is trusted by default, and every device and user must authenticate and meet security requirements before accessing resources.
